Isn’t the K5 the same as the Optima?
![]() 09/23/2015 at 19:01 |

K5 = Optima in Korea

Why is it no longer the Optima here? Marketing?

It’s still the Optima here. The owner just bought Korean-market badges online, i.e. the “K5” and that stylized Kia badge – both of which are only found on their Korean-market cars.
It’s exactly like how people replace their Infiniti G’s badges with Nissan Skyline ones, b/c that car is sold as the Nissan Skyline in Japan. They go for the original, OEM’s-domestic-market look.

I really like that Kia badge, I don’t know why they don’t switch to it here. Screw the alphanumeric names, though.
